چکیده

In the paper we address the problem of constructing frequency hop codes for use in multiuser communication systems such as multiple-access spread-spectrum communications and multiuser radar and sonar systems. Previous frequency hopping techniques are reviewed. The construction of a new family of frequency hop codes called hyperbolic frequency hop codes is given. Exactly p-1 codes of length p-1 exist for every prime, p. Additionally the fullness of the codes is proven. We review the concepts of multiple-access spread-spectrum communication systems and multiuser radar and sonar systems and it is shown that the hyperbolic frequency hop codes possess nearly ideal characteristics for use in both types of system. Specifically, in multiple-access communications the codes achieve minimum error probability, while in radar and sonar systems the codes have at most two hits in their autoand cross-ambiguity function. Examples of address assignment for multiple-access communications systems and radar and sonar autoand cross-ambiguity functions are also given.

Optical orthogonal codes: Design, . . .

Ahstruct-An optical orthogonal code is a family of (0,l) sequences with good auto-and cross-correlation properties, i.e., the autocorrelation of each sequence exhibits the " thumbtack " shape and the cross correlation between any two sequences remains low throughout. The study of optical orthogonal codes has been motivated by an application in a code-division multiple-access fiber optic channel...

Fourphase Pulse Compression Sequences Generated using Chaotic Maps

Sequences with good correlation properties are in general required in various applications such as radar, sonar, spread spectrum and multiple access communication. The optimal sequences are the ones whose peak sidelobe of the aperiodic autocorrelation function is the minimum possible for a given sequence length. A chaotic sequence that provides auto and cross-correlation properties that are sim...

Optical Frequency-Hop Multiple Access Communications System

We propose fast optical frequency-hop code division multiple access (FH-CDMA) for high bandwidth local area networks. Encoding and decoding are achieved by tunable fiber Bragg gratings. Frequency hopping offers many advantages compared to the previously proposed optical CDMA multiple access techniques. The simultaneous utilization of the time and frequency domains offers notable flexibility in ...

Capacity of frequency-hop spread-spectrum multiple-access communication systems

0 0 0 Abstract-The information theoretic capacity of frequency-hop spread-spectrum multiple-access communication is considered. In order to account for independent encoding and decoding and private (to the sender and receiver) hopping patterns an interference channel model is adopted with K sender-receiver pairs with the ith receiver only interested in the message transmitted by the ith sender....

Ultra-wide bandwidth time-hopping spread-spectrum impulse radio for wireless multiple-access communications

Attractive features of time-hopping spread-spectrum multiple-access systems employing impulse signal technology are outlined, and emerging design issues are described. Performance of such communications systems in terms of achievable transmission rate and multiple-access capability are estimated for both analog and digital data modulation formats under ideal multiple-access channel conditions.
